On 12-13 September, 2024, the SPIRIT consortium held its latest General Assembly meeting in Berlin, Germany, hosted by our partner Deutsche Telekom. Those who couldn’t attend in person joined the meeting online, ensuring full participation across the consortium. The two-day event brought the partners together to review the progress made so far and discuss the upcoming activities and goals for the next phase.
Day 1 kicked off with an overview of the project’s current status, including milestones, main highlights, and key deliverables. Discussions were held around the technical developments of the platform, with a focus on aligning on the critical next steps. Moreover, key updates around impact creation were provided, followed by an overview of the open calls status.
On Day 2, special attention was given to preparations for the upcoming Technical Review Meeting, where project demonstrations – such as holograms, avatars, and robotic interfaces – will showcase the advanced telepresence technologies being developed. Technical discussions also centred around platform validation and innovation, while partners reflected on recent achievements and identified areas to further enhance impact and outreach efforts.
Fostering collaboration and progress
The two-day gathering proved to be a valuable opportunity for the consortium to synchronise efforts and strengthen the path forward as the SPIRIT project continues to push the boundaries of immersive telepresence technology. The General Assembly highlighted SPIRIT’s progress while strengthening the collaborative spirit and shared goals among consortium partners.
