The 22nd EuroXR International Conference – EuroXR 2025 took place from 3 to 5 September 2025 in Winterthur, Switzerland, at the ZHAW School of Management and Law.
SPIRIT joined forces with the CORTEX² project for a special session titled: “Extended Collaborative Telepresence – How CORTEX² and SPIRIT are Advancing Innovation in XR” — which was also the final event.
This joint track highlighted the impact of their cascade funding programmes, featuring research outcomes, live demonstrations, and practical applications. In total, results from over 50 funded initiatives were presented, offering valuable insights into how European projects are shaping the future of XR.
Co-organised by the European Association for eXtended Reality (EuroXR) and ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences, the conference was locally coordinated by Wolfgang Schäfer, Head of Service Lab X.
Building on the outcomes of previous editions, EuroXR 2025 provided a platform for researchers, professionals, and industry representatives to share recent developments in Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality. The programme included keynote speeches, plenary sessions, and dedicated tracks for scientific research, applications, posters, and demonstrations.
This was an exciting opportunity for those interested in new technologies applied to a variety of fields, but also for those who want to be a part of a project that could change the future of the development of new technologies in Europe.
